After South Africa chose to bat first, they were once struggling at 20/3. However, Dewald Brevis (45 off 29 balls), David Miller (63 off 35 balls), and Tristan Stubbs (44 not out off 24 balls) guided South Africa to the score of 187/7 in 20 overs.

In reply, only Shivam Dube managed to score 20+ runs (43 off 37 balls), as India were bundled out for only 111 runs. David Miller won the Player of the Match for his incredible match-winning knock.
