The 2025 season of the Asia Cup will begin in September, and the Indian team will lock horns against the United States of America (UAE) in their first group-stage clash of the edition. The entire tournament will be played across the two venues at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Sony Sports Network will telecast the games on its channels, while Sony LIV will stream the games. The highly anticipated clash between the two neighboring sides, India and Pakistan, will take place on September 14 in Dubai, as the two rivals will meet each other as many as three times, potentially, if they progress in the final and Super 4 stage.

During the 17th season of the event, the Asian Cricket Competition will feature eight teams that have been divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group will make their way into the Super 4 stage, from where the two toppers will clash in the final on September 28. The event is 42 years old since its first introduction in 1983.

For the 2025 edition of the tournament, the two groups have been made. India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman are part of the first group, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong are part of the second group. The curtain raiser will be between Afghanistan and Hong Kong.

The event has gone through rotational changes between the ODIs and T20Is since 2016. The last season saw India winning the title in the 50-over format in 2023 in Sri Lanka just before the start of the ODI World Cup. On the other hand, this year, it will take place in the shortest format, keeping an eye on the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.

In the promo, Sony showed some of the great events, including Hardik Pandya’s superb six to win the game against Pakistan, Sri Lanka earning the 2022 edition of the tournament, while Shubman Gill also celebrated a fine century against Bangladesh. On the other hand, they also displayed Rashid Khan and a few other notable players.
