There is speculation on whether Dhoni would be available to feature for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The former captain led the franchise last year in the absence of their first-choice captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was ruled out of the event due to injury. South Africa’s Dewald Brevis, coming as a replacement, appreciated Dhoni’s humility.

“The one thing that I can just say from MS is his humbleness and who he is as a person, which stood out for me. He is basically off the field, the time he has for players, for people. His room door is always open. If he’s sleeping, that’s the only time it’s closed.Brevis expressed in a recent interaction.

The 44-year-old has smashed a total of 5439 runs in 242 innings of the IPL at a strike rate of over 135 with 24 half-centuries. The last time he crossed the 250-run mark in the IPL campaign was in 2019 when he smacked 416 runs during the 2019 season.
