The former World Cup-winning Indian captain and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) leader, MS Dhoni, has been nearly a regular visitor to the Maa Dewri Temple in Ranchi. It’s located around Tamar, which is nearly 60 kilometers from the city in Jharkhand. His presence to the temple has gathered several eyes and attention from the fans.

As usual, Dhoni’s presence in the temple garnered a lot of attention as they showcase his spiritual side of the deep faith. Over the years, it has been a normal occasion for the right-handed batter to make his way into the temple before the start of any season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) or any major international series, seeking blessings for the success.

However, this time, it’s a bit different. Dhoni visited the same temple with his family after the IPL season, where it didn’t go in the right way for the veteran and the Chennai Super Kings, who, for the very first time, in the history of the tournament, ended at the bottom of the points table. The video of him seeking blessings moved through a crowd of devotees with some protection but no VIP treatment.

The 44-year-old right-handed batter, MS Dhoni, smashed 10773 runs in 297 innings at an average of just over 50 and a strike rate of nearly 88, thanks to 73 half-centuries and 10 centuries at the best score of 183 runs. In the shortest format of the game, the veteran has clubbed 1617 runs in 85 innings at an average of 37.60 and a strike rate of 126.13, with two fifties.

Dhoni drilled 5439 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history with the help of 24 half-centuries in 242 innings at an average of 38.30 and a strike rate of 137.45. The batter smacked 196 runs in 13 IPL innings of the IPL 2025 at an average of 24.50 and a strike rate of 135.17 with the best score of unbeaten 30 runs.

There are questions over Dhoni’s presence in the next edition of the tournament. He didn’t make it clear whether he would be available for the next season, but that’s always the interesting part before every season.
