Watch Mohammed Siraj trap Jamie Overton LBW on Day 5 of ENG vs IND 5th Test.

There was incredible pressure on India coming into the fifth day of the fifth Test of the five-match series between England and India at the Kennington Oval, with the home side needing just 35 runs to win with four wickets in hand, including the wicket-keeper, inform batter, Jamie Smith. Jamie Overton’s two boundaries at the start of the day erased the pressure.
But Mohammed Siraj brought them back in the contest with the wicket of Smith, who, after missing the first three balls, got an outside edge into the hands of the wicket-keeper behind the stumps. Overton was still at the crease, which was the biggest positive for the home side.
Then came another huge moment on the penultimate ball of the 80th over, when Siraj wrapped Overton on the pads. It seemed to be snicking down the leg side. But umpire Kumar Dharmasena raised his finger after taking so much time as the batter called for the review. Once it was given out in the field, even the batter knew that it would be hard to turn around.

The replays showed that the ball, after pitching, went down the leg side. However, that was enough for it to clip the leg stump as the umpire’s call sent the batter out of the park for nine runs in 17 balls. Siraj was pumped, as were his teammates. They found a new energy in the game.
ABSOLUTE SCENES!!! 💥

India, under Shubman Gill’s captaincy, made a good plan around the field placement. They kept three slip fielders to search for the wicket, but they also had men around the boundary to keep the runs in the tank. Gill also kept a fielder at the third man, who was saving the flying shot over the slip fielders.
The pressure was on the home batters, besides which the heavens also decided to share a moment as it started to drizzle at the Oval. The potential victory would draw the series for the Blue Brigade, which would be an incredible achievement after the Lord’s defeat, where the England side took a 2-1 lead in the series.
