Watch: Jasprit Bumrah's fast yorker injures Ishan Kishan ahead of IND vs NAM T20 World Cup 2026 clash
On the eve of India's T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Jasprit Bumrah returned to the nets as his firing yorker injures the left-handed opening batter, Ishan Kishan.

India was already concerned with the fitness of their left-handed opening batter, Abhishek Sharma, ahead of their second encounter in the T20 World Cup 2026 against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. But on the eve of the game, while they were practicing, another opening batter, Ishan Kishan, also got injured, which has been a nightmare for the management.
Jasprit Bumrah, who was out of the opening game’s action at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai against the United States of America (USA) due to viral fever, returned to the nets with full fire as he kept rushing with the ball at Kishan, who found himself on the firing line with the bat.

It was a fast yorker from the Ahmedabad-born to the left-handed batter, who tried to defend the delivery and got hit on the bridge of his foot as he kept limping and couldn’t stand. He was in serious pain at the initial stage when the doctor ran in and tried to check the left leg of the batter.

It will now continue to be a tricky few hours for the Indian side to get their opener in full shape. In the opening game in Mumbai against the USA, Kishan returned with 20 runs in 16 balls with the help of one boundary and a couple of sixes at a strike rate of 125. Ahead of their Pakistan clash, it will be a vital fixture for their batters to get back in full form.

Meanwhile, Tilak Varma has revealed in the press conference that Abhishek has been discharged from the hospital. He was admitted after the team reached Delhi, as the Punjab-born didn’t appear in the training sessions and field either against the United States at the Wankhede Stadium.
In case Abhishek gets ruled out, India will bring in Sanju Samson in the playing XI. But the issue will arise if Kishan also fails in the race against time to get fit for this game. Perhaps, they will try to bring Washington Sundar into the side and open with Tilak.
