Watch: Dewald Brevis hits the ball out of the park against Australia

South Africa and Australia took on each other in the third ODI at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in MacKay. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Australia created havoc by posting a total of 431 runs and losing just two wickets in the process.
South Africa were struggling chasing the target when they came out to bat. When Tony de Zorzi got out, South Africa were reeling at 107 runs with the loss of five wickets. Dewald Brevis remained the highest run scorer for the South Africa. He took the Australia bowlers on and scored boundaries to give some respote to the South Africans. How scored 49 runs in just 28 deliveries with the help of two boundaries and five maximums. One of his six off Xavier Bartlett went out of the ground.

Brevis could not get enough support
Unfortunately there was no other batsman who could have helped Brevis in his cause. He found no support from the other end and he was dismissed one run shot of his half century. At the end of 23 overs South Africa were 153 losing 8 wickets in the process.
Travis Head scored a magnificent 142 runs in just 103 balls. Mitchell Marsh got out after scoring hundred runs. The finishing touch was provided by Cameron Green as he scored 118 runs in just 55 balls and remained unbeaten till the end.
