At the Sydney Cricket Ground, the Sydney Thunder locked horns with the Sydney Sixers in a massive battle as some of the notable Australian players featured in the clash. Inform David Warner smashed a massive six as he uppercut Mitchel Starc’s short-ball behind square before smashing Sean Abbott for two successive boundaries to get going in the game.

Warner had celebrated a century in the ongoing 2025 season of the Big Bash League, and he continued to carry on the form with four boundaries in the 4th over against Jack Edwards. He continued to go after the bowlers, even their side losing wickets from the other end as he lofted Abbott over extra cover for a massive six before punching the bowler for three boundaries in the rest of the 15th over of the innings.

David Warner celebrates third BBL century in 2025/26 season 

He started the 18th over picking the slower delivery from Edwards as he brought the bottom hand into play and whipped it over deep mid-wicket region for a massive six before Nick Madison joined him in the party from the other end. With a single on the first delivery of the penultimate over, Wonner celebrated his third century in the Big Bash League history.

With the century, Warner overtakes Virat Kohli with 10 centuries in T20 cricket as he remains only behind Chris Gayle, who celebrated 22 centuries in this form of the game, with Babar Azam sitting at the second position with 11 centuries. This century is the century of the ongoing season of the BBL, which is the most for any addition to the tournament.

Thanks to the unbeaten 110-run knock in 65 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and four sixes, Sydney Thunder finished on 189 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs of the innings. However, the Sixers made their way to 64 runs without any damage inside the power play during the chase.
