Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja notch fifties in match saving cause on Day 5
At Tea, Washington remained unbeaten on 58 and Jadeja is batting sensibly on 53 runs.

After India lost two early wickets trailing by 311 runs, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul saw through the Day 4 and put up a 174 run stand for the third wicket. While Rahul departed scoring 90 runs at the start of Day 5, Gill continued his majestic form and scored a brilliant century before falling to Jofra Archer. India were in desperate need of a good partnership and it came at the end of Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja.
Both all-rounders took up the responsibility brilliantly and scored half-centuries each before assuming the job is not done yet. At the end of Tea break the duo managed to pull India out of trail and generated a lead of 11 runs. Washington remained unbeaten on 58 and Jadeja is batting sensibly on 53 runs.
Speaking of the fourth Test, after putting 669 runs on the board in reply to India’s 358, England found themselves on the pedestal. But the veteran Rahul and Gill’s splendid partnership will potentially turn a losing game into a draw. If the result turns out to be a draw, the fifth Test becomes crucial and India would like to draw the series 2-2 with a win.
