The 20-year-old left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma finally got her first wicket in her international career during the second Women's T20I against Sri Lanka Women at Visakhapatnam on Tuesday night (December 23), which was her second Women's T20I. 

On her WT20I debut, Vaishnavi Sharma bowled brilliantly as she had the bowling figures of 4-0-16-0. While she deserved a wicket, it was denied due to Shree Charani failing to grab an opportunity.

In the second game, Vaishnavi had a rough start as she conceded three fours in the last three deliveries of her first over of the game. While she conceded 13 runs in her first over, she conceded a total of 32 runs in the match, as the young left-arm spinner brilliantly controlled the game.

In her third over of the match, Vaishnavi finally took her first wicket as Nilakshi de Silva was out for only two runs, while Shree Charani took the catch at short fine leg. 

Vaishnavi Sharma's last over in 2nd WT20I against Sri Lanka Women resulted in 3 wickets

Vaishnavi delivered the final over of the innings, where Sri Lanka Women lost three wickets for only seven runs. While the left-arm spinner dismissed Shashini Gimhani for a golden duck, as it was her second international wicket, the other two dismissals in that over were run outs. The youngster ended that match with the bowling figures of 4-0-32-2. Shree Charani was the other Indian bowler to pick up more than one wicket in the game, with the bowling figures of 4-0-23-2. 

While India Women won the first game by eight wickets, they won the second fixture by seven wickets to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series, with three matches yet to be played.
