Twitter erupts as Yashasvi Jaiswal smashes 1000 test runs vs England in record time

Yashasvi Jaiswal made history on Day 1 of the fourth Test between India and England in Manchester, becoming the second-quickest Indian player to score 1000 runs in Test matches against England. Jaiswal accomplished this in just his ninth Test and 16th innings against the English side.

Jaiswal entered this match needing 55 more runs to break the 1000 mark, and reached that mark in style with a punch off a boundary from Chris Woakes in the 36th over. His fluent knock of 58 from 107 balls helped his side get off to a great start before he was disposed of by Liam Dawson, caught behind by Harry Brook.

With this accomplishment, Jaiswal becomes the 20th Indian to score 1000 or more Test runs against England, and follows ex-players like Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar, on this great list.
