The WDPL 2025 Final was a nail-biter, decided by just 1 run, as Central Delhi Queens fell short while chasing 122. In spite of the brave efforts by Monika (33), Riya Shokeen (28*), and Deeksha Sharma (23), they were unable to cross the finish line. South Delhi Superstarz stayed calm and composed, and their accurate bowling led by Medhavi Bidhuri (3/26) and Himakshi Choudhary (2/18) made the difference. The inability of Queens to finish strong cost them the championship. Below are the main reasons that caused Central Delhi Queens to lose the match:

1. Lack of Big Partnerships

While Monika, Riya, and Deeksha all produced starts, no-one was able to push on into a match-winning score. Monika’s 33 was the highlight, but wickets kept falling when they really needed to form partnerships. Without good partnerships, Queens struggled to chase what was a modest target.

2. Middle-Order Collapse

At one stage, Queens were well-placed but lost momentum when the middle order couldn’t withstand the pressure. Medhavi Bidhuri’s double strike (3/26) triggered the collapse, leaving too much for the lower order. This stumble turned the chase into a tight finish.

3. Failure in the Final Overs

Riya Shokeen battled well with a good knock of 28 not out, but the team could have rotated the strike better or hit some boundaries in the death overs. The girls bowling tight overs were Himakshi Choudhary (2/18) and Disha Nagar (1/13) restricted runs, ensuring Queens fell short by just one run in the most crucial phase.
