Tammy Beaumont showed a glimmer of intent with the bat, scoring 36 off 21 balls; however, Welsh Fire simply couldn't get going as they lost regular wickets, and a succession of dismissals killed their chase. The Superchargers were extremely tight with the ball, with Wareham (2/14), Smith (2/9), and Ballinger (2/11) expertly developing a pressure-cooker effect that Welsh Fire couldn’t escape from. To add to the drama were two vital run-outs, which only accelerated the decline of Welsh Fire's innings.
