[WATCH] SL vs BAN, Asia Cup 2025 Super 4: Dasun Shanaka's mammoth 6 lands on the top tier of gallery

Sri Lanka batter Dasun Shanaka hit Shoriful Islam for a huge six. The ball traveled a mile and landed on the top part of the gallery of Dubai International Stadium. A much-needed over-boundary for Sri Lanka (SL vs BAN). 

After an encounter in the group stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh locked horns in the first match of the Super 4s of the tournament. Accumulating the stats from the last few encounters between these two teams, today's (September 20, 2025) match is nicely poised for an entertaining encounter. 

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first, asserting the wicket could behave more in favor of the batter in the second half of the match. Though, the Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka was not too unhappy to lose the toss, as he mentioned he was not happy losing the toss and batting first. He was hoping for positives from the track batting first. But, in reality, Sri Lanka, the first side to bat, was struggling to gain a high run rate.

Dasun Shanaka launched the ball into the orbit for a giant 6

After the first 10 overs of the first innings, when Sri Lanka's run rate was around 7 and they were struggling to find big hits, Dasun Shanaka hit a mammoth six to allow some oxygen for the team. Before reaching the individual 50-run mark, that six was the evidence of his form against Bangladesh. 

During the second ball of the 13th over, Bangladesh bowler Shoriful Islam was up against Shanaka. For that delivery, the bowler tried to put the ball on the line of the stumps but went slightly towards the off. Shanaka picked up the opportunity to gain the maximum result. The batter stood tall and delivered it over the deep square leg for an over boundary.
