Team India has already started Aisa Cup 2025 preparations in Dubai. They are the favorite to win this year's tournament as well. The tournament will start on September 9, while India's campaign will start the following day.
After landing in Dubai, the Men in Blue boys got a warm welcome from the crowd, especially Sanju Samson. The crowd chanted his name and asked for autographs as well. Samson, with a smiling face, interacted with his fans before boarding the team bus. India skipper Surya Kumar Yadav and vice-captain Shubman Gill also witnessed the craze for Samson. Along with Samson, fans cheered for Surya Kumar Yadav as well. But the scenario is slightly different for Gill.
BCCI appointed Gill as the deputy of Yadav for the Asia Cup, after a thriller Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, where India, under Shubman's captaincy, won the 5th match at The Oval to make the scoreline 2-2. His performance with the bat also was attractive against England. Though, appointing Gill as the deputy of Yadav came as a huge surprise. The inclusion of Shubman Gill put Sanju Samson's batting position in uncertainty for the tournament. Team India went to Dubai with three openers—Abhishek Sharma, Subhman Gill, and Sanju Samson. There are high chances that Gill can make an opening pair with Sharma, and for that, Samson may have to push in the middle order.
Gill remain silent
When Samson and Yadav were engaged with fans, Gill and other players of the squad went into the bus straightaway. The expression of Gill caught on camera. He tried to maintain a stoic expression on his face, with a hint of a smile.
