World Championship of Legends (WCL) T20 2025 is at the centre of the controversy as the title defenders India Champions will start their journey in the tournament on Sunday (July 20) with the match against Pakistan Champions. Amid India-Pakistan tensions, should India boycott playing Pakistan at the WCL 2025?

World Championship of Legends (WCL) T20 2025 is the second edition of the WCL, while India Champions won the inaugural edition last year after beating Pakistan Champions by five wickets.

India-Pakistan relations have experienced a massive decline over the last decade. It has become more severe since the Pahalgam terrorist attack and Operation Sindoor. India and Pakistan national cricket teams now face each other in only ICC or ACC tournaments, and now some Indians have questioned their battle in the big tournaments as well.

Shahid Afridi's presence in Pakistan Champions set chaos

The India Champions vs Pakistan Champions clash is in controversy, as some Indian cricket fans demand a boycott of the match. The situation is more tense due to the presence of former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi. Following the Pahalgam terrorist attack and Operation Sindoor, Afridi made several controversial comments targeting India, the Indian Army, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Even earlier, he was in controversy for several comments, especially regarding Kashmir.

Former Indian cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Harbhajan Singh slammed Afridi for his recent controversial comments. Previously, Yuvraj Singh also criticised Afridi for his unacceptable comments. All these cricketers are available for the India Champions in the WCL 2025. According to recent Sports Tak news, a few top Indian cricketers may opt out of the match against Pakistan Champions. Now, there is a big question: whether India should boycott Pakistan at WCL 2025 or not.
