Sanju Samson's cousin reveals four interested teams to sign star batter ahead of IPL 2026
Sanju Samson's cousin reveals the four interested teams to sign star batter ahead of IPL 2026.

A few days ago, the Rajasthan Royals’ captain, Sanju Samson, said, “RR means the world to me” before a recent interaction with the former spinner, Ravichandra Ashwin, which has moved around social media. Many reckoned that the wicket-keeper batter had perhaps erased all the speculations of changing his franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
The wicket-keeper batter, Sanju Samson, has overall smashed 4704 runs in 172 innings at an average of 30.94 and a strike rate of 139.04, with the help of 26 half-centuries and three centuries at the best score of 119 runs. But the rumours of the Kerala-born have been given new life after his cousin, Jijo A John, reposed the same image with new comments.
“I have received many calls and messages regarding my recent update about Sanju Samson’s role as captain of the Rajasthan Royals. To clarify, Sanju has officially decided to leave the Rajasthan Royals. Following his departure, teams such as CSK, KKR, MI, and RCB have expressed interest in signing him.” He reposted the image on Instagram story.
RCB and CSK show interest in signing Sanju Samson ahead of IPL 2026
It has been disclosed that Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bengaluru have shown their interest in attracting the wicket-keeping batter before the IPL 2026. CSK will eventually need someone who could replace MS Dhoni as their new wicket-keeper, while Kolkata needs an Indian keeper since both Quinton de Kock and Rahmanullah Gurbaz are overseas options and have struggled. They can also appoint him as the new captain.
The Mumbai Indians rely on Ryan Rickelon, who is an overseas player. The issue with the overseas players is that if their foreign overseas wicket-keeper batter fails to find rhythm, they won’t be able to drop him with no options available. Along with Jitesh Sharma, RCB could use Samson at number three as an experienced and reliable batter.
Since his debut, apart from the two seasons in 2016 and 2017 for the Delhi Capitals, Samson has only stayed with the Royals. Apart from his last season when he smashed 285 runs, Sanju has crossed the 300-run mark in every single season of the IPL since 2017.
