Pakistan is all set to host a home ODI series against Sri Lanka later this year. The 3-match ODI series is scheduled to start on November 11 ahead of their T20I tri-series, which includes Afghanistan. All three matches will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This bilateral series is important for both of the cricketing nations to restore their relations on the field.

Sri Lanka last played on Pakistan soil in 2019, when the host team emerged victorious in a three-match series by 2-0. Pakistan and Sri Lanka last faced each other during the 2023 Men's Cricket World Cup when Pakistan emerged victorious with a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka.

But for now, both of the nations are now focusing on the Asia Cup 2025, where both of the teams will try their hardest to recapture the title. Recently, Pakistan played some promising cricket against Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates during a T20I Tri-Nation series. Despite a surprising defeat against Afghanistan during the initial stage of the tournament, the Salman Ali Agha-led side bounced back strongly and clinched the trophy by defeating Afghanistan.

Sri Lanka has been experiencing a set of mixed results for the past few weeks. They had a disappointing 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh, where Bangladesh managed to win the series by 2-1. Against Zimbabwe, they made the situation more challenging by losing the second of the 3-match ODI series. After the blow, SL stood up and delivered in the tournament decider. Ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, Sri Lanka won the ODI series against Zimbabwe by 2-1.
