The 24-year-old Indian cricketer Nandani Sharma created history by becoming the fourth bowler to record a hat-trick in the Women's Premier League history, which she recorded during the last over of the first innings against Gujarat Giants Women in the fourth match of the WPL 2026.

WPL 2026: Nandani Sharma recorded a hat-trick

After Delhi Capitals Women chose to field first, Gujarat Giants Women scored 209 all out in 20 overs. In the final three balls of the innings, the right-arm medium pacer Nandani Sharma took three consecutive wickets to record the hat-trick. 

The hat-trick wicket streak started with the stumping dismissal of Kanika Ahuja (4). On the next delivery, Nandani bowled Rajeshwari Gayakwad for a golden duck. The innings ended with Nandani's hat-trick wicket as she bowled Ranuka Singh for another golden duck.

Nandani Sharma recorded fifer, took 4 wickets in final over

In that final over, Nandani actually claimed four wickets, as she dismissed Kashvee Gautam (14) on the second delivery of that over. 

Nandani picked up a total of five wickets in the match, as she earlier dismissed Sophie Devine for 95 runs. While Nandani conceded 16 runs without any wickets in her first over of the match, she finished with the bowling figures of 4-0-33-5. While it was the fifth-best bowling figures in WPL history, she became the seventh bowler to record a fifer in the competition's history.
