Multiple injury crises hit India Under-19 ahead of their England tour. Two cricketers were ruled out of the series, and BCCI had to name their substitutes. The Junior Cricket Committee has named D. Deepesh and Naman Pushpak as replacements for Aditya Rana and Khilan Patel, respectively. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has been officially informed about the replacements. Both of the injured players were part of the squad as the standby players.
Through a release, the board has informed, "Aditya sustained a stress fracture in his lower back, while Khilan suffered a stress reaction in his right leg during the ongoing high-performance camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence."
India's U-19 squad is full of talented players, and Ayush Mhatre was elected as the captain to lead the team in England. Mathre was rewarded after his impressive stint with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025. The batter was unsold during the mega auction but got his chance to shine in the cash-rich league when CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out from the middle of the tournament due to injury. Ayush joined the Chennai-based camp as his replacement and scored 206 runs from six innings at an average of 34.33.

Along with Ayush Mhatre, another youngster, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who shocked the entire cricketing world by surprise, is also finding his place in the U19 squad and preparing for the England tour. India U19 will play a 50-over warm-up match, followed by five Youth ODIs and two multi-day games against England U19 between June 24 and July 23.
