In Match 17 of the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) season, Washington Freedom pulled off an incredible 5-wicket win versus Los Angeles Knight Riders at Grand Prairie Stadium, Texas. Washington won the toss and opted to bowl first. Even with a spectacular century by Andre Fletcher, Knight Riders weren't able to defend their score as the Freedom chased it down in the last over.

Batting first, LKR stacked up a massive 213/4 in 20 overs. Andre Fletcher was ruthless at his best, scoring a stunning 104 off 60 deliveries. Unmukt Chand chipped in with a furious 41 off 30 deliveries, and Andre Russell added late histrionics with 30 off only 13 deliveries. Among Washington's bowlers, Ian Holland performed best with 2/25 in 3 overs, while Jack Edwards picked up a wicket and Mark Adair 0/9 (1).

In response, Washington Freedom timed their chase perfectly. Mitchell Owen played a game-changing cameo with 43 off just 16 balls. Glenn Maxwell kept things steady with a captain’s knock of 42 from 23 balls, while Glenn Phillips added 33 off 23 to take the match deep. Tanveer Sangha took 2/35 off 4 overs, while Shadley van Schalkwyk and Ali Khan claimed one wicket each, but Freedom's lower-order composure ensured they got over the line, finishing at 214/5 in 20 overs.
