On Sunday, August 24, Shivamogga Lions (SL) will take on Mysore Warriors (MW) in Match 28 of the Maharaja Trophy 2025 at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground in Mysore. The Lions, captained by Nihal Ullal, are having a bad season and still haven’t won a match in the tournament. In their last match, they lost to the Mangaluru Dragons by five runs. The Lions have lost seven matches and have one point from a no-result against the Warriors, already eliminated in the tournament.

The Mysore Warriors are one place higher at fifth place, with a similar lack of success. The defending champions have two wins in their nine matches and five losses. The Warriors have shown potential, however, in their inconsistency; they had also squandered winnable matches. Even if they did win this match against the Lions, their hopes of making stage two were already dashed.
