Italy face massive injury setback against Scotland during T20 World Cup 2026
In their first T20 World Cup in the history of the game, Italy Cricket has started with a massive injury setback against Scotland as their star player is doubful to partcipate in the T20 World Cup 2026.

The start of their T20 World Cup 2026 journey against Scotland at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata hasn’t started sweetly as Italy face a massive injury setback with their captain, Wayne Madsen, being ruled out of the remainder of their opening fixture against Scotland. He dislocated his left shoulder while leading the team.
The incident happened on the third delivery of the fourth over of the first innings when Wayne Madsen dived to stop the powerful hit from the Scotland opening batter, George Munsey. But Madsen fell awkwardly on one of the practice pitches, and when he got up, he was in serious pain and clutched his shoulder.
The physio came to attend to him before he left the field. The absence of the 42-year-old is a blow to the Italy side as his participation for the rest of the game is ruled out. He is also expected to be checked in his neck to get the future assessment for the rest of the T20 WC.
