As expected with recent news, former skipper Dane van Niekerk hasn't been included in the World Cup squad, as she was added to the preparation squad for future series after revoking her retirement.

ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025: Experienced Laura Wolvaardt will lead with balanced squad
Laura Wolvaardt will lead South Africa in the forthcoming World Cup. They are the three-time Semi-finalists in the competition, including reaching the last four in the last two editions. The last two Women's T20 World Cup runners-up are dreaming of creating history in India and Sri Lanka.
Talking about the experiences, apart from the skipper Laura Wolvaardt, the Proteas team also have Chloé Tryon, Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka, and Sune Luus. Meanwhile, they also have the explosive batter Tazmin Brits, and the quality all-rounders Nadine de Klerk, Anneke Bosch, Annerie Dercksen, and Nondumiso Shangase.
In the bowling line-up, Masabata Klaas and Tumi Sekhukhune are the strong names in the seam options, along with the left-arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba.
The surprise name
South Africa have the wicketkeeper Sinalo Jafta along with a 17-year-old Karabo Meso, who is a surprising name in the World Cup squad. Meso has played two Women's ODIs and five Women's T20Is, as the Proteas team management is also looking for the future.
CSA has also named one travelling reserve as Miane Smit. She also performed this role in last year's Women's T20 World Cup.
South Africa Women's schedule for Women's World Cup 2025
South Africa Women will start their journey in the eight-team ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 on October 3 against England Women at Guwahati. Then they will face New Zealand Women (October 6 at Indore), India Women (October 9 at Visakhapatnam), Bangladesh Women (October 13 at Visakhapatnam), Sri Lanka Women (October 17 at Colombo), Pakistan Women (October 21 at Colombo), and Australia Women (October 25 at Indore).
Before their journey in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, South Africa Women will play a three-match Women's ODI series against the hosts Pakistan on September 16, 19, and 22 in Lahore.
