ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026: Points table, most runs, most wickets after IND vs USA match 3
India beat the USA by 29 runs in Match 3 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with Suryakumar Yadav starring in a winning start.

India began their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 tournament campaign on a winning note as they beat the United States of America by 29 runs in Match 3 of the tournament, played on February 7, Tuesday, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While batting first, India could only manage to score 161/9 in 20 overs, losing initial wickets, but a calm and confident knock by Captain Suryakumar Yadav, who remained unbeaten on 84 runs off 49 balls, helped India reach a fighting total.
The USA bowlers gave a good account of themselves, with Shadley van Schalkwyk bowling an excellent spell, taking four wickets for 25 runs. The breakthroughs he took at key intervals kept India under pressure, thereby restricting them from big scores.
In reply, the USA fought well and could score 132/8 in their 20 overs. Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Shubham Ranjane scored the highest, making 37 runs each, but the chase was not managed due to frequent wickets. Mohammed Siraj spearheaded the Indian bowling attack, taking 3/29. The rest of the bowlers also bowled well. Suryakumar Yadav was the standout player in that game with his match-winning contribution, while van Schalkwyk was also impressive for the losing team.
