Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi is quickly establishing himself as one of Indian cricket’s most exciting young talents. At just 14 years old, the southpaw from Bihar is rewriting the record books with both bat and ball, showing remarkable composure and flair on the big stage.

After lighting up the Youth ODI series against England with a stunning 355-run haul, including a match-winning 143 in the fourth ODI, Suryavanshi has carried that momentum into the Youth Test series. Despite a low score of 14 in the first innings of the ongoing Test in Beckenham, the left-hander roared back with a dazzling 56 off 44 balls in the second innings, laced with nine boundaries and a six.

What makes this feat even more remarkable is that Suryavanshi has now entered the record books as the youngest Indian to take a wicket in a Youth Test match, at just 14 years and 107 days. His left-arm spin broke a crucial 154-run stand by removing England U19 captain Hamza Shaikh with a well-flighted delivery, caught at long-off. He wasn’t done there. The teen prodigy also dismissed Thomas Rew and finished with impressive figures of 2/35 in 12 overs, helping India gain a 101-run lead.

India’s dominance was built on a mammoth first-innings total of 540, led by a century from captain Ayush Mhatre. In response, England were bundled out for 439, despite fighting half-centuries from Rocky Flintoff (93) and Shaikh (84).
