ENG vs IND, 1st, Day 2: Weather update straight from Leeds

Covers are on. Clouds piled up over the Headingley stadium, Leeds. The groundsmen of the stadium covered the practice pitches along with the main track as well. Under the overcast weather and due to that, low light has raised concerns among cricket fans, as England and India are scheduled to play Day 2 of the first Test of the 3-match series.

After Day 1, team India is in the driving seat, unbeaten captain Shubman Gill and vice-captain Rishabh Pant, and 359/3 on the scoreboard. But now the questions are, will the match resume today? What is the weather forecast there? 

According to the weather forecast by the 'Met Office', a warning for moderate thunderstorms is issued for East Midlands, North East England, North West England, Wales, West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber. If the match starts at the scheduled time, there are high chances of rain to interrupt the game. As per the weather forecast, chances of rain will be there throughout the beginning of the match.

Forecast for thunderstorms and gusting winds 

With a yellow warning for thunderstorms, AccuWeather has reported, "Partly sunny and warm; a couple of showers and a heavy thunderstorm this afternoon; thunderstorms can bring flooding downpours, hail, and damaging wind gusts. Hi: 29°." 

If the rain joins the party, then, between the two sides, England will benefit most. After Day 1, Team India was 359 for 2. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten for 127 and 65, respectively. With this score on the board, India has a golden chance to offer the host team a mammoth total to chase.
