Match 10 of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 lived up to its name and provided the spectators with a cliff-hanger of a match but subsequently resulted in a relatively comfortable win for scores of Purani Dilli 6 (PD6), who tied it up with a 15-run win over West Delhi Lions (WDL) at Arun Jaitley Stadium. PD6 lost the toss and were put in to bat, managing to put up a super total with some reasonable bowling to hold their composure and victory in a meaningful save.

Purani Dilli 6: 186/6 (20 Overs)

PD6 had a flying start with Aarush Malhotra being the lead with a quickfire 21 runs off just 8 balls, making his strike rate a stunning 262.50. PD6 managed to slip back with some early wickets, so Samarth Seth came in and stabilized with a solid innings, accumulating 52 runs off 36 balls, laying down a good platform and a solid anchor for his side.

The middle order had some useful contributions from Vansh Bedi (19 runs off 17 balls) and phenom Dev Lakra (47 runs off 31 balls). Ekansh Dobal (20)* and Aayush Singh (4)* guaranteed a strong finish and ran the final score to a very respectable score of 186/6.

West Delhi Lions Innings: 171/8 (20 overs)

After winning the toss, West Delhi Lions were set a tall order of 187 to chase and followed a rocky start, losing a few early wickets. Krish Yadav attempted to settle the run chase with 12 runs in 8 balls before the top order got wiped out by some aggressive bowling.
The innings was flushed out by Ayush Doseja, who smoked a blistering and brilliant 41 runs in 22 balls at a strike rate of 187.04. Nitish Rana also came in the fold and contributed 15 runs off 14 balls.

As the runs needed began to rise, Hrithik Shokeen (6 off 7) and Tishant Dabla (10 off 9) tried to not put the WDL behind as they awaited to find the gaps with no luck.
With good tight bowling at the death, PD6 finished strong and sealed the game.

  • Rajneesh Dadar made the early inroads with 2/19 in his 4 overs of edges.
  • Aayush Singh proved effective with 2/34.
  • Lalit Yadav continued to hold great control by getting 1/32 in 4.
  • While Pardeep Paraser and Udhav Mohan also each got a wicket.
