Just before the beginning of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, co-hosts India Women have suffered a huge blow while playing the warm-up fixture against England Women. All-rounder Arundhati Reddy suffered a knee injury, which seemed really horrible.

India Women chose to field first in their warm-up game against England Women at the BCCI CEG ground in Bengaluru on Thursday (September 25). In the 13th over of England Women's innings, while Heather Knight struck a straight drive, it directly hit the right-arm medium fast bowler Arundhati Reddy's left knee, as she was in the follow through at that moment. It massively hurt the Indian all-rounder as she completely fell on the pitch and was struggling in pain.

The Indian medical team quickly went to Reddy for the treatment, while the on-field cricketers seemed concerned about the player. She struggled to stand as she couldn't put her left leg on the ground due to her injury. She required a wheelchair to leave the field. While two more balls were required to finish that over, Jemimah Rodrigues completed that over.

The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 will begin on September 30 and will run till November 2. There is very little time remaining for Reddy to recover, and the injury seemed very harsh for her. Her injury status is yet to be confirmed.

Arundhati Reddy has taken 15 ODI wickets

In the warm-up match, Reddy dismissed the English opener Amy Jones for 39 runs. She had the bowling figures of 4.4-0-34-1. In the recently concluded home Women's ODI series against Australia Women, Reddy recorded four wickets in two games. The 28-year-old has recorded 15 wickets in 11 ODIs.

Apart from the 15-member squad, India Women also have five reserves as Tejal Hasabnis, Prema Rawat, Priya Mishra, Sayali Satghare, and Minnu Mani. Sayali Satghare is the pacer among the reserves, and she can replace Reddy in case the all-rounder unluckily fails to recover on time.
