The Sydney Thunder (THU) will face the Brisbane Heat (HEA) in Match 9 of BBL 2025-26 at the Manuka Oval, Canberra, on Monday, December 22.

The Sydney Thunder have had a poor start to the season. They have lost both of their matches so far and are currently at the bottom of the points table. The team has struggled to find form with both bat and ball. Thunder will be desperate to win this match and get their first points of the season.

The Brisbane Heat are placed sixth on the table with one win from two matches. They are coming into this game with good confidence after beating the Perth Scorchers in their last match. That win helped them build momentum, and they will look to continue the same performance against the Thunder.

THU vs HEA: Pitch Report

The Manuka Oval is usually a good pitch for batting. This will be the first BBL match at this ground this season. Out of the 22 T20 matches played here earlier, teams batting first have won 10 games, which shows that setting a target can work. Bowlers who bowl tight lines and lengths can still take wickets.
