Pakistan are facing the United States of America in their second Group A match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, where both teams can't afford any defeat. In the crucial moment of the first innings, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam played a crucial knock after another slow start. The USA got Babar's wicket in the crucial time to put significant pressure on the opponent's innings.
Pakistan were sent to bat first under the light of the SSC, Colombo, cricket ground. Pakistan openers Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan provided a good start with a 54-run partnership for the first wicket inside the powerplay. Although Saim (19) and captain Salman Ali Agha (1) were dismissed in the final over of the powerplay, Babar Azam held the innings along with the opener Sahibzada Farhan.
Once again, Babar had a slow start by scoring 15 off 18 balls; however, he later picked up the pace by scoring 46 off 32 balls with four fours and one six.

Babar and Farhan had an 81-run partnership for the third wicket before Babar was dismissed to break that partnership. While Mohammad Mohsin delivered a short ball, Babar's shot went at long on, where Milind Kumar took an excellent low catch after running towards the ball. It was a really important wicket for the USA.
Pakistan scored 190/9
Sahibzada Farhan was later dismissed for 73 off 41 balls with six fours and five sixes. Also, Shadab Khan had a crucial cameo of 30 in just 12 balls with four fours and one six, which massively helped Pakistan to manage a strong total of 190/9 in 20 overs.
