England’s bowlers maintained consistent pressure, striking at crucial moments to deny a late flourish. Scotland’s total was built around a fluent 49 from captain Richie Berrington and a brisk 33 by Michael Jones at the top. Their 71-run partnership revived the innings after early setbacks and briefly put Scotland in control.
