Initially, India was to host the Asia Cup 2025, but after Pakistan refused to tour India, the tournament was moved to the UAE. The Asia Cup takes on extra importance this time as India are defending T20 World Cup champions. India are defending Asia Cup champions, having claimed the Asia Cup 2023 in ODI format under Rohit Sharma, and the Blue Men will be looking to carry their T20 dominance, under Yadav.
But it won't be an easy road for India to another title as Pakistan will provide their biggest challenges. Pakistan comes into the Asia Cup in good form, as they recently won a tri-series against Afghanistan and UAE. The drawn group has both teams sharing a group in Group A with Oman and UAE with the first-match on September 14 - the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match-up. Since both sides are expected to proceed to Super 4, fans may be spoiled with the possibility of another India vs Pakistan match-up later in the Asia Cup too.
